Hi there! I have a question: how would you respond to someone who thinks fantiction is not okay, and everybody should only write about characters they created themselves? My friend think this and it makes me want to hug all my stories :(

Sadie: Me personally, how I would react? I would tell them what they could do with their (wrong) opinion, and then tell them to go work with their own characters and do their thing while leaving me in peace to do mine. 

But that’s just me.

Don’t ever be ashamed of using an already existing characters to create a new story; that’s been going on since people learned how to hold a pencil and write, so don’t let your friends bout of pretentiousness ruin your good time. 

*Edit: I’m probably going to read this tomorrow and regret sounding so snippy. It’s just irritating to hear about people talking down at others choices, especially if they’re supposed to be friends.
