1. Count down
2. Threaten punishment if they don’t start behaving! This is their warning!
3. The ‘Daddy/Mommy’ glare (it’s scawwy!)
4. Light slap on the wrist (or butt!) to get their attention
5. Whisper, don’t yell! Whispering is actually more effective, because it doesn’t make your Little fearful, it makes them attentive and grabs their attention
6. If you threaten punishment and they keep acting up – ALWAYS REMEMBER TO FOLLOW THROUGH, or else they won’t respect you as much; this is because you look like you aren’t serious! They won’t respond well to empty threats – so be sure to follow through!
7. All else fails – spankings!
8. Remember aftercare!
9. Early bedtimes also can be a time for your Little to understand their behavior was not appropriate; nobody likes to go to bed early 😦 It gives them time to lay in bed and think about what they did, since they probably won’t be too sleepy!
